Cozy reading nook

Today, I'm in a mood to just read books. Recently, I'm really tired of being a mum and a wife, and I just need some time to be alone. I would love to grab a book and a coffee and run away from my daily routine. Of course, after an hour of being alone I'll start miss my kiddo asking myself if he ate, if he is ok and so on. I'm thinking about those days when I was single and hanging around whenever I wanted. And sometimes, if I wanted to skip a day from work, I faked a sickness so I could spend an entire day in my two favorite bookstores in Warsaw.

As I no longer live in Poland and suffer from homesick, I can't find any place which makes me feel like home here. Of course, there are plenty of Starbucks' or/and Coffee Caribbean if you like such a place. Well, the only option left is make my own cozy reading corner in my own apartment.

These two are definitely my favs - via Freshome

Unique decoration - ladder

I have one special memoir of my grandpa' old cottage situated among tall wild flowers and pine trees in a village. I remember the wooden ladder leans against the hen house. No one used it anymore, it was really old and banded by the rain water. I actually tried to avoid empty hen house and the ladder, because it became a natural environment for all small animals esp. spiders and their webs, which I really hate. Since then, over .... years passed and I still hate spiders but I found myself a fan of a ladders. Pity, but here it's really difficult to find something special or unique enough to use it as a decoration. There is a flea market next Friday, maybe I'll try there. I just want to see my husband's face when I tell him - will you get me a ladder? The older, the better....

Their place

The very first thought come to my mind when I think about Spain is food. I love Spanish cuisine. I used to work in Spanish restaurant in Chicago (1492 Tapas Bar but it seems like it's closed recently) and I could eat patatas bravas, grilled gambas and pojo and drink sangria all the time, I had never enough. I also had a feeling that Spanish people live to eat, drink, talk, gather and have fun, they are always happy and cheerful. And that was really refreshing. Lately I found myself inspired by these pictures from the apartment in Madrid - it's crazy, colorful, playful, bright and encouraging. White is no more boring if you add some colors esp. like yellow and blue. Enjoy!

I love that huge case under the wooden seat and a little yellow helicopter :)

That's great idea to put some empty frames - as long as the frames look like piece of art by themselves - and that massive mirror by the wall.

Hanging candelabra in a restroom? Looks just perfect. Btw, I used to put pictures in restroom too, but eventually steam damaged the paper and it looked awful.

The Doors

According to Symbolism, doors, gates and thresholds are symbolic entrances into new worlds. It might represent communication between one world and another world, or might mean an entrance into a new life. It is a passage from one realm to another. From my perspective, a closed doors hold the secret behind them. I like the thrill just when you are about to open the door. You don't know what to expect unless it's a door to your own apt.
