Morning Coffee

It has been a ritual of mine since I graduated high school (which was a loooooong time ago) - every morning I have a cup of coffee with hot milk. In my twenties I used to have so many mugs and cups that my parents had to get a separate cupboard to store all of them. When I left home to live abroad for a while, I picked that habit of getting the coffee - to - go (esp. from 7-Eleven or - of course - Starbucks). But after few weeks I found it really uncomfortable and unhandy to drink coffee in a car while driving to work. But now, as I'm full time mum, I have my time to delight in morning coffee and eventually I'm not in a hurry any more. That moment is really important for me as only in the morning I can get so-called "supercharge" for the rest of a day. And believe me, when I miss that moment I'm in an awful mood :))))

That's one of my favourite mug, it's simple but I like the design on it as it has its character. You can find some more here http://www.coolcoffeemugs.net
To be completely honest I have that fixation over the mugs that I would spend fortune on them.
For example, I love these Turkish coffee cups

or these one

Well, regardless of  the mug or cup you are drinking from, it's also important where you drink your coffee. My favourite place is a kitchen. But unfortunately my kitchen is just horrible. That's a good word - horrible, nasty, small and totally not functional. Of course I tried really hard to make it work, and it is not THAT bad but obviously it is not a kitchen of my dream and it will never be unless I would tear down walls on both sides.
As I rent apt not own one, I can't really use my imagination and remodel the place so the only thing I can do is to embellish my kitchen and keep it clean. Yes, keeping your space clean might be harder that's you think when you have a kid and a man living with you. As far as I know there is something called LAT (living apart together) and, for example, Tim Burton and Helena Bohman Carter decided not to share same house but live in two separate ones situated next to each other. Well, regardless how tempting it is, it's still not an option for me as I like to have EVERYTHING under my control :))))).

That's the one of my many favourite pictures of a dream kitchen. I like the idea of having a balcony in a kitchen which is really not that usual. Just imagine your morning snack and coffee/tea during the spring or summer with a nice breeze from outside.

For those unlucky - like me - who's having small kitchens:

I personally think that Ikea provides nice ideas and solutions for small kitchens and the appliances are relatively cheap.
Well, have a great day and bis morgen!
